Profile

From EPC contractor to owner’s advisor

I know projects from the side that writes the bids and runs the sites. Today I use exactly this knowledge for you.

My path

My roots are commercial: training as an insurance specialist at HUK Coburg, followed by financial sales and my own brokerage. This is where my eye for risks, contracts and profitability comes from.

In 2003 I came to photovoltaics through planning a cell and module production facility, and in 2005 I founded the ILB-Helios Group. From 2008 my work became international: utility-scale plants and project development in Spain, Italy, Greece and Slovakia, a roll-out for IKEA in four countries including a planning office in London, and later self-consumption systems for municipalities, retail, logistics and agriculture.

Why I am on your side today

As an EPC contractor I have priced bids, defined scopes of work and run construction sites. I know where buffers and gaps hide in an offer, which items later turn into change orders, and how design, procurement, grid connection and installation depend on each other.

Today I use this knowledge for clients: I challenge assumptions before they become expensive and see early on whether schedule and budget are realistic.

My strengths: electrical and procurement

The electrical side

Grid connection, electrical design and coordination with grid operators have been part of my work for many years, from cable route planning to commissioning.

Procurement with a worldwide network

From module manufacturing, trading and working with manufacturers in Asia and Europe I know the supply chains. I know what modules, inverters, storage and mounting systems really cost, how long they take and which suppliers can be relied on.
